Understanding Insomnia
When the mind is overwhelmed by worry, anxiety, fears, anger or emotional stress, it becomes difficult for the brain to fully relax and let go. For many people struggling with insomnia, sleep itself becomes a source of anxiety. You begin worrying throughout the day about whether you will sleep at night — and after one poor night of sleep, the fear of not sleeping often becomes even stronger. This creates what I call the Insomnia Cycle.
Insomnia is a sleep disorder that affects a person’s ability to fall asleep, stay asleep or experience restful sleep. It is not defined by a specific number of hours slept, since sleep needs vary from person to person.
Common Effects of Insomnia
Difficulty sleeping can significantly impact daily functioning and overall well-being. Common symptoms may include:
How Hypnosis Can Help
The good news is that the Insomnia Cycle can be changed. In just a few sessions, it is possible to retrain the brain to slow down, relax and reconnect with healthy sleep patterns.
My approach combines two key elements:
- 1
Improving Sleep Hygiene
Together, we identify habits and environmental factors that may be interfering with restful sleep and make supportive lifestyle adjustments.
- 2
Clinical Hypnosis for Sleep
Through Clinical Hypnosis, clients learn to calm the mind and shift unhealthy thought patterns around sleep. The goal is to retrain the brain to naturally enter a deeply relaxed state each evening, making it easier to drift into restful, restorative sleep.
